As a broadcast journalist, Jo’s training-ground in PR came via the busy press offices of some of the UK’s largest medical and healthcare charities. Throughout her career, Jo has continued to specialise in this area, co-ordinating media relations campaigns for a number of healthcare clients within the voluntary and not-for-profit sector.
Many of the campaigns that Jo has helped to orchestrate have resulted in significant shifts in consumer awareness, as well as policy changes. For example, 8,000 young people and athletes are now screened each year as a result of increased awareness achieved as part of Cardiac Risk in the Young’s ‘testmyheart’ screening tour.
Jo’s excellent communication skills and her commitment to campaigns means that she is often seen as a welcome extension to a client’s team.
